I worked at a company for one year, then due to my health was unable to perform part of the job requirements. I was told that I could still do the “office” part, but not the “shipping/receiving” part. That suited me just fine, although it meant a loss in hours. I asked my office manager if she thought I could file for unemployment due to the loss in hours. They had neither laid me off or term my employment in any way at this time.. she answered “maybe, but it wouldn’t be very much”. The next day, she said that the upper management is requesting a final date of employment from me. This caught me off guard, as I am a single mother who lives check to check. However being respecful of my bosses request; I came up with a date, along with her help (input). It was one month later. At the time, I was contemplating moving back to Colorado, with my oldest child and help her with my grandkids. I never thought I had a reason to think anything negative about my bosses motives until I started reading your book “Control Freak”. I am half way through the book, and Praise God, am seeking him first instead of my normal old routine. I even was consulting her for advise over the past yar because she was so smart, always had advise on anything I was going through with my child, ex, health… bought my daughter and I really nice gifts. Things I could never afford. Now looking at it all, I realize that I’ve allowed a non-christian to control me. God reminded me, I beleive, how sick I used to be in CO. So I changed my mind on that and continued prying for His will. This seem to anger my boss, although she kept her cool, that I was no longer going to CO.. My hours there has reduced to hardly any and I was ok with that because I was feeling betrayed by her and didn’t want to work for her anymore (fleshly spite, I guess). And, I was 99% sure I had another job with a friend of mine. The other job never panned out but I didn’t tell her. I wanted her to think I didn’t need her or that company. I was hurt but was not going to let on. This morning, I had the feeling that God was telling me to put in email to her, exactly what had happened, in a kind of timeline fashion, and cc her boss and the company President. So I did. However, I still didn’t admit that I didn’t get that job. I’m working a a few hours at another job as an independant contractor- very few; but that’s all I have going. She is now texting me “what is wrong”, “what is up with your strange email”? I haven’t responded back. I realize now, that I should not have given them a date, and rather, I should have let them lay me off. Have I caused myself, in your professional opinion, to not qualify for unemployment brenefits? I’m continuing to pray and felt the urge to ask for your advise. I know the Lord has a plan for my daughter and I and I don’t want to waste time barking up the wrong tree.

If you get laid off you can get unemployment, but the amount would be based on your lowered earnings. I’d just start looking for another job, it’s great what the Lord showed you through reading the book so keep seeking and knocking for where He wants to move you.
My Home is in foreclosure and the date for sale has been set for next month.Meanwhile my modification is not yet through and there are three things of concern to me: 1. I have not been given opportunity to sale my house,2, If i file chapter 13 will it clear both Loans ? 3.Am i entitled to reallocation expense and also extra time to post pone the sale date. How can i contact you on Phone in order to explain my situation much better.

my daughter has a misdemeanor record when she was 19yrs old, her record has been expunged by the judge last year.she is applying for a job where they check your back ground.can the company still see her record? what should she say on the interview if they ask if she has a criminal record. please advice i really appreciate your help thank you.
Expungement means you can say you have no record of any crime; but you want to be sure that the process has taken place. If it has there should be no record on a background check. You can make contact with the Department of Justice (DOJ) independently, to see what they’re reporting for her.
